Tongkat Ali Extract / Longjack Extract - 100:1 & 200:1 root extract powder in sealed bags.
Tongkat Ali or Longjack extract also known as Eurycoma Longifolia - 100:1 and 200:1 root extracts are a concentrated form of the soluble parts of the root. The strength or concentration of the extract (100:1) means the 100 kilograms of ground root chips are processed with liquid which is then drawn off and freeze dried to yield 1 kilogram of dried extract. This powder is has 100 times more active ingredients per kilogram than plain root powder or chips. The 200:1 extract is made the same way with 200 kilograms of raw material used to produce 1kg of extract. The 200:1 extract is stronger, smaller doses are required for the same effect.
***Some suppliers (we consider this unscrupulous) are selling root powder (not extract) or root chips. Others may be selling extracts from plant parts which do not contain the active ingredients in the root. Make sure you are getting pure concentrated root extract, not a mix with other lower cost powders or extracts. These inferior products will not work like pure root extract. You would have to take close to 100 times more root powder than 100:1 extract for the same effect, no wonder they can sell it for less! Recently we have seen suppliers on Amazon claiming they are selling extract from Malaysia at very low prices. The government of Malaysia has protected and controls the harvest and export of Eurycoma Longifolia. There is only one company that can legally sell product from Malaysia. The company is licensed by the Malaysian government and the price for their product is the highest on the market. We can assure you that if the product being advertised on Amazon is indeed from Malaysia it is black market. More likely it is from another country, or it is not Tongkat Ali. Buyer beware!
This powder is sold in bulk form in sealed plastic bags. It is suitable for and sold to customers who prefer to fill their own capsules. It can also be used to make a tea as is done by the native population in the areas where Tongkat Ali grows. Some customers put this extract powder right in with their coffee grounds when brewing coffee to make "Tongkat Ali Coffee". Doing this masks the bitter taste. The taste is extremely bitter, most people will not like the taste of it if dissolved in a glass of water.
We occasionally get requests for measurement of the powder by volume. We do not recommend measuring the powder with a spoon as this is very subjective, although people do it and it seems to work fine for them. We have measured with baking spoons and the weight varies significantly since the powder packs very easily. An unpacked level 1/4 teaspoon of 100:1 extract weighs about 810mg. An unpacked 1/4 teaspoon of 200:1 extract weighs about 880mg. These are very rough numbers and should not be relied upon. Our suggestion to customers that request this information is to purchase a very inexpensive milligram scale. You can get them on Amazon for about $22.00. Do a search on Amazon for "Gemini-20". This is a nice little scale that works well in this application.
